The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chesapeake Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on September 22 at the Chesapeake Conference Center. The event brought together 100 business and community leaders from the region to honor volunteers. Chesapeake Mayor Alan Krasnoff provided remarks during the luncheon.
Dr. Linda Rice, Provost of the Chesapeake Campus of Tidewater Community College (TCC), received the 2011 Marian P. Whitehurst Women in Leadership Award. David Ropp, of Monarch Bank, was honored with the Chesapeake Division’s 2011 Chairman’s Award. The Chesapeake Division’s 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Claudia Cotton of Tidewater Builders Association.
The Hampton Roads Chamber’s annual State of the City series kicked off with the Norfolk address on February 21 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. A sold out crowd of 1,000 business and community leaders heard Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim provide an update on the city’s key business development initiatives, municipal progress updates and opportunities.
