2017 State of the Region Address  Looks at Airbnb, the Opiod Crisis, and Brain Drain
The Hampton Roads Chamber, will host the 18th Annual State of the Region address on the Southside on October 4, 2017 and on the Peninsula on October 6, 2017.

The Hampton Roads Chamber LEAD State of the Region 2017 addresses topics of major economic concern for the region. Dr. James V. Koch, President Emeritus and Professor of Economics, Old Dominion University will be joined by Dr. Robert McNab, Professor of Economics, Old Dominion University and Deputy Director, Center for Economic Analysis and Policy for the presentation.

This year’s topics include:

  • Higher Education Pricing
  • Changing Delivery of Health Care
  • The Opioid Crisis
  • The Decline of Foreign Language Instruction
  • Do We Suffer from a Brain Drain?

 LEAD Hampton Roads, a program of the Hampton Roads Chamber, will host the 18th Annual State of the Region address on the Southside on October 4, 2017 and on the Peninsula on October 6, 2017. This year’s Address will be presented for the first time as a luncheon from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Main in Downtown Norfolk on Wednesday, October 4 and at the Marriott Newport News City Center on Friday, October 6.
