The Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance is pleased to announce that Becker Hydraulics of Herdorf, Germany will invest over half a million dollars in a manufacturing facility in the City of Chesapeake’s Cavalier Industrial Park and create 10 new manufacturing jobs. Other locations include Ningbo, China and Seoul, South Korea.

The company will produce high pressure hydraulic hose systems as well as fuel and bio diesel hose assembly lines for various industrial applications and a multitude of machinery. Established in 1990, this family-owned business has expanded its customer base throughout Europe and the United States. With the new production facility in Hampton Roads, Becker Hydraulics USA Inc. will serve industrial customers in the United States while creating new capacity in their German production facility.

“A world class port, talented workers and an advantageous business climate all contributed to the strategic location decision in the City of Chesapeake,” says Becker Hydraulics’ president and owner Fabian P. Becker about the new operations. “We have found the region to be very hospitable to international clients, offering the assistance needed to establish our new production facility.”

“We welcome Becker Hydraulics to our growing foreign business community of Hampton Roads,” comments Alliance chairman Bob Boyd. “We can add them to our long list of successful international companies.”

The Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance partnered with the City of Chesapeake Economic Development Department in promoting this investment. Congratulations to Steven Wright and his team with the Chesapeake Economic Development Department for a job well done.
