Thanks to a grant from the US Small Business Administration's Portable Assistance Grant program, the SBDC of Hampton Roads will be conducting a twelve-week long seminar specifically designed to help those business owners who work in this arena.

In partnership with MainStream Global Solutions, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s  Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is launching the Southeast Virginia Contracting Institute to assist regional small businesses better understand, adjust and win new Federal, State, and Municipal contracts in this new atmosphere of severe budget constraints that have caused a number of our Hampton Roads business to close.

The Contracting Institute program will cover the following aspects to help guarantee your success for 2014 by avoiding the pitfalls associated with these tough times that many small business owners are facing:

  • Critical Elements to Strategic Business Development
  • Building Relational, Relevant & ROI Call Plans
  • Federal, State and Local Contracts & Vehicles to Grow Your Business
  • Creation of Winning & Compliant Proposals
  • Strategic Partnering & Teaming Designs
  • Superb Operational Execution with High Performance Deliverables To Keep and Renew Customers

In addition to the training program, participants will be able to access to Deltek’s powerful Govwin opportunity identification database (normally cost prohibitive to a small business).
