Volunteer Hampton Roads welcomes Susan Pleasants, Leigh-Anne Cade, and Crystal Waitekus

VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads Staff Updates

NORFOLK, VA (July 21, 2015) – VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is pleased to announce the following staff updates:

Susan Pleasants joined the organization as the Nonprofit/Development Manager in June. She is responsible for nonprofit membership and new business initiatives. Previously she worked at Wheeler Real Estate Investment Trust in Community and Tenant Relations and concurrently as the Development and Tournament Director for the Wheeler Benefit Foundation Dodgeball Tournament. She has an extensive background in alumni and community relations and is an alumna of The College of William & Mary.

Leigh-Anne Cade serves as the head trainer for nonprofit organizations. As Training Manger, she leads the Service Enterprise program, which is designed to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations through high level volunteer utilization. Prior to joining VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, Leigh-Anne worked at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for 13 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in Maryland and her Master of Public Health degree from San Diego State University.

Crystal Waitekus now serves as the Community Relations Manager for VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads. She is responsible for overseeing the Hampton Roads Corporate VOLUNTEER Council and organizing large-scale community service events. Crystal has a background in public policy and worked in politics for over seven years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Guilford College and a Masters of Arts in International Affairs from Georgetown University.
