Mission Statement:  Troy University is a public institution comprised of a network of campuses throughout Alabama and worldwide. International in scope, Troy University provides a variety of educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for a diverse student body in traditional, nontraditional and emerging electronic formats. Troy University has more than 130,000 alumni worldwide. The Troy University Alumni Association has 52 local alumni chapters in the United States and two international chapters in China and Russia.

What are the greatest obstacles and/or challenges that your business has faced? How have you and your business overcome them?Non-traditional working adult students are demanding more and more online programs.  As a leader in online education TROY underwent a reorganization in 2014 to provide improved services to our students.  Student Services and Financial Advising are centrally located in Alabama; however, our office located in Chesapeake facilitates student success and offers a testing center for required proctored examinations.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Troy University is proud of our prestigious alumni throughout the Hampton Roads community including, but not limited to Chesapeake Chief of Police, Kelvin Wright; Norfolk Sherriff, Bob McCabe; Virginia Beach Deputy Chief of Police, John Bell; Virginia Beach Fire Chief, Steven Cover, City of Hampton Chief of Fire and Rescue, David Layman; and Newport News Fire Chief Robert Alley.

What do you see for the future of your business?
Troy University has served the Hampton Roads community for over 24 years.  Over the next few years TROY will continue to offer highly desired, first-rate, higher education opportunities for students who desire an affordable flexible online college degree.

Troy University stays connected to prospective and current students as-well-as our alumni.  TROY builds connectivity through community outreach and service.  The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce provides many opportunities to give back to the community by participating in various leadership positions.
