This State of the City address is the premier annual forum for interaction among Virginia Beach's business, civic and community leaders. Mayor Sessom's address will highlight key business development initiatives, provide strategic municipal progress updates, address challenges and opportunities, and provide a glimpse into the City's future. The Virginia Beach State of the City is the first event of the 2017 State of the City Series. The cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk will also hold State of the City events, with dates as follows: Portsmouth (April 19th), Chesapeake (April 27th), Norfolk (May 12th), Suffolk, (May 23rd).
