PROPEL, Mentor-Protege Program

PROPEL, Mentor-Protege Program
PROPEL Seeking Proteges For Upcoming Cohort

PROPEL, the highly successful Mentor-Protégé Program established by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads, has a limited number of open spots remaining.  The program will officially kickoff Business Bootcamp on June 10th.

This innovative program takes existing small business owners who are looking to grow their business and take it to the next level of success and provides them with a 7 week Business Bootcamp, counseling and access to GrowthWheel through the SBDC and then two years of monthly mentoring meetings with successful entrepreneurs recruited from the Entrepreneur Organization, the Chamber Board of Directors and other organizations throughout the region.  In addition to this, the participants benefit from peer-to-peer mentoring during monthly Protégé Round Up meetings hosted at the Chamber.  Past participant, Dennis Grey, owner of Accurid Pest Solutions, attributes his $50k in new business to the business bootcamp and mentoring presented in Propel.  Tuition for this program is only $400 per student which covers all training materials, access to GrowthWheel and refreshments during the program classes.

PROPEL’S  first cohort consisted of twelve participants, including Dennis Gray, who have all achieved varying degrees of success with their businesses.  All the members of the cohort expressed satisfaction with all various aspects of the program and are still very much involved with providing input to improve future offerings.
