Chamber Hosts Forum in Norfolk to Inform Voters Prior to May 6 Election
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the Norfolk Branch NAACP and the League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads are joining forces to sponsor two political forums in Norfolk during the month of April.

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the Norfolk Branch NAACP and the League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads are joining forces to sponsor two political forums in Norfolk during the month of April. The topics being discussed at both forums will include Education, Economic Development, Transportation, and Housing. Both events are free and open to the public.

The City of Norfolk Mayoral and Ward 5 Political Forum will be held on Tuesday, April 15 at the Granby High School Auditorium from 7pm to 8:30pm. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Ms. Barbara Hamm Lee, host of WHRV’s Another View, will moderate the event. On stage, will be the Mayoral candidates: Mayor Paul Fraim, Michael Muhammad and Jane Bethel and the Ward 5 candidates: Councilman Tommy Smigiel and Jim Driggers.

The City of Norfolk Wards 3 & 4 Political Forum will be held on Thursday, April 17 at the Booker T. Washington High School Auditorium from 7pm to 8:30pm. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Dr. Carol Pretlow, Associate Professor, NSU, will moderate the event. On stage, will be Ward 3 candidates: William Collins, Jr.; Mamie Johnson; Rev Glen Jones, Sr.; Rodney Jordan; Marcus Powell; and Lionell Spruill, Jr. as well as Ward 4 candidates, Councilman Paul Riddick and Billy Cook.
