India Fest 2015
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce was very proud to partner with the Asian Indians of Hampton Roads for their 2015 India Fest.

The Asian Indians of Hampton Roads (AIHR) hosted their annual India Fest on Saturday, November 14th at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.  More than 12,000 people in attendance, the festival was full of non-stop activity celebrating the diverse culture of India.  Local leaders from Hampton Roads, Chamber President & CEO, Bryan K. Stephens, Mayor Will Sessoms, Councilwomen Amelia Ross-Hammond, Congressman Bobby Scott, Congressman Scott Rigell, and Drew Lumpkins from Senator Mark Warner’s Office kicked off the Festival with the lighting of the Deepam. The Virginia Beach Convention Center was filled with lively Indian music, vibrant colors, and exhibitor booths selling clothing, trinkets, and jewelry. A wide variety of delicious Indian food was prepared and the drink of choice was Mango Lassi, a refreshing mixture of yogurt and mangos! There were also many young children and teenagers dressed in colorful Indian clothing, who performed Indian dances.

This year AIHR also launched NETCON – A Business Development Lounge, in partnership with the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. India Fest 2015 sponsors, business and political leaders from the Hampton Roads Community gathered at this separate exclusive event to build valuable connections and help foster business development. Mr. Stephens emceed the NETCON reception.  There was a Bollywood performance by a group of female dancers and the keynote address was given by Congressman Bobby Scott.  Saffron Indian Bistro prepared an amazing buffet lunch during the reception along with the Mango Lassi.  After the VIP reception, the sponsors made their way back down to India Fest where they enjoyed the rest of the entertainment and the Chamber’s Vice President of Programs Priscilla Monti called the sponsors on stage to be acknowledged.

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce was very proud to partner with the Asian Indians of Hampton Roads to make India Fest a great success!
