Nashville Mayor Megan Barry will welcome the Hampton Roads Chamber guests on our Inter-Regional Visit to Nashville.  Mayor Barry is the first female to lead the Music City.   Mayor Barry will kick off the visit to Nashville with a reception at Bridgestone Arena prior to the Predators hockey game.

In 2015, Mayor Megan Barry was elected to her first term as the seventh Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County after serving two terms as an at-large member of the Metro Council.

Mayor Barry entered office with a determination to keep Nashville’s successful economy moving forward while ensuring sustainable growth, equal opportunity for all, high-quality public education, and the safety and well-being of all Nashvillians.  She will share the secrets of her city’s success with Hampton Roads leaders.

The Hampton Roads Chamber is a powerful economic partner, inspiring ignitor, and impactful advocate for the region.  To help move Hampton Roads forward we are engaging the business community for an Inter-Regional Visit (IRV) to Nashville Tennessee.

Why Nashville? We are looking at three key areas:  Economic Development, Workforce Development, and Infrastructure Development.  Nashville is progressive in achieving success in all three.  We will talk with Nashville leaders about their best practices.  Former Governor Phil Bredesen will share the visions of Nashville then and now.  He will highlight the steps the city and state took to set this current economic boom into action.

We will tour the impressive Nashville Entrepreneurial Center to determine ways to enhance our entrepreneurial presence.  Discussions with regional thinkers, planners and doers will center on the build of Nashville’s new downtown stadium and the success of Bridgestone Arena.  We will attend a Predators hockey game and enjoy a behind the scenes tour of Bridgestone Arena.  The visit will also be a chance to learn how our region can better develop our brand and sense of place.

The Inter-Regional Visit to Nashville will be November 28-November 30, 2017.  For information and sponsorships please contact Priscilla Monti pmonti@hrchamber.com

PLEASE REGISTER BY OCTOBER 31, 2017
