Over 700 business men and women attend the chamber's Monster Mega Mixer

The Hampton Roads Chamber is a powerful economic partner for our members and that was on full display at the Monster Mega Mixer and Business Showcase on October 30th.

Ninety vendors displayed their goods and services.  Most exhibitors fully embraced the Halloween theme.  Christina Brunner said her challenge in setting up her booth for Sterling Benefits was “how do you make health insurance fun?”  She nailed it by posting a spooky sign “Haunted by Health Insurance?”  Brunner said “I see this as a great marketing opportunity to show the friendly faces behind health insurance.  The climate in this field is pretty scary right now.”  Brunner was handing out candy and a healthy alternative, toothbrushes.

Patricia Kenner is a new Chamber Trustee.  Her family business Stripers wowed the 700 guests with pumpkin cheesecake.  “I’ve spent years in the hospitality business. I knew when I came to this market I needed to engage with the chamber because I’ve always gotten so much out of my chamber memberships wherever I’ve lived.”

Identify Yourself has been a vendor for the Mega Mixer for years. “We see a lot of our customers here each year.  It’s great to touch base with them.  It’s good to be around people in the Chamber.” Nancy Brown’s business partner Alex LeFevre was just as eager to be part of the Mega Mixer. “This is great exposure for us in the Hampton Roads marketplace. We get new business and enjoy meeting everyone. And the food is good!”
