The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce is hosting a State Senate 7th District Debate on Thursday, October 1, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Join 7th District of Virginia, State Senator Frank Wagner and Challenger Gary McCollum for a significant debate about the issues that will affect everyone who lives in the Commonwealth. The 7th State Senate District of Virginia includes portions of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Dr. Bob Holsworth of DecideSmart will act as moderator. The Hampton Roads Chamber and Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance are hosting From Macro to Micro: The 2016 Defense Budget and Beyond on September 29 at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Recognizing that the Department of Defense spending is the largest economic driver in Hampton Roads, the defense budget is a defining issue in the local business community. This briefing will provide the most up-to-date information and current trends in U.S. defense spending from content experts as it impacts the national, state and local economy.
