Winners Announced for 26th Annual Hampton Roads Small Business of the Year Awards

Awards Luncheon to be Held on May 25
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce received more than 40 applications for its 26th Annual Hampton Roads Small Business of the Year Awards. One exceptional small business owner, out of five finalists, one from each Southside cities, will be selected for his or her tireless work and embodiment of the spirit of enterprise.
The five city winners and finalists for the Small Business of the Year title are: Eastern Virginia Family & Cosmetic Dentistry: Dr. A. Jeffrey Weisberg and Dr. Barclay K. Weisberg (Chesapeake) A. Reddix & Associates (Norfolk) Bayside Harley-Davidson (Portsmouth) Bennett’s Creek Farm Market & Deli (Suffolk) Classic Air’s One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning (Virginia Beach) The Chamber has selected the “Top 10 to Watch.” These businesses are some of the fastest-growing small businesses in the area: Asset Recovery International, LLC BK Appraisal Services Cape Henry Associates, Inc. Endurance Network Services GSS Gear HVAC Warehouse Mad Science of Hampton Roads Prism Maritime, LLC Providence Computers, Inc. Valkyrie Enterprises In addition, the Impressions in Print Leadership Award will be presented to an individual demonstrating leadership, impact on workplace cultural, community service and involvement, professional achievement, and perseverance. Charles A. Schue III, President & CEO of UrsaNav, Inc. will be presented with this admirable award. The finalists will be honored, and one overall winner named, at the 2010 Hampton Roads Small Business Awards luncheon at noon on May 25, 2010 at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center. This luncheon coincides with “National Small Business Week” held May 23–25 that recognizes the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of the United States.
