Hampton Roads Chamber Hosts 2nd Spring Business to Business Expo on April 9
This event showcased nearly 100 community businesses and allowed large-scale networking as well an opportunity for new products and services to be introduced in Hampton Roads.

Nearly 600 business professionals attended the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Spring Business to Business Expoon April 9, 2015 at the Chesapeake Marriott. This event showcased nearly 100 community businesses and allowed large-scale networking as well an opportunity for new products and services to be introduced in Hampton Roads.

We were pleased to welcome several new Chamber members as exhibitors in the Expo including Cricket Wireless, Physicians Weight Loss Centers of Virginia Beach and Wicked Green Paint. Most companies had their own giveaways at their table such as Mega Furniture who gave away a chair. Beyond making new connections, the attendees enjoyed hors devours and cash bar. Reliance Staffing & Recruiting, Presenting Sponsor for the 2015 Chamber's Spring Business to Business ExpoReliance Staffing & Recruiting was the Presenting Sponsor for the event. James Hoeft, Communications Director at Reliance Staffing thought the Spring B2B Expo was a perfect opportunity to engage with other businesses.

“It’s extremely important to our business that other businesses recognize what a staffing and recruiting company is capable of doing for their business,” said Hoeft. He continued, “A lot people think that all we do is temporary staffing services. The bottom line is we are in the employment business; our goal is to try to find people employment, or be a bridge to employment for those who are looking. This could be someone who is a chief financial officer or someone who is looking for entry-level work. Being able to communicate with our fellow Chamber members and members of the Hampton roads business community and having an opportunity like this was incredible and we could not ask for more.”

Another exhibitor, Rob Miner, Publisher of Boating Times Chesapeake Bay commented, “I thought Rob Miner, Publisher of Boating Times Chesapeake Baythis event was going to be strictly business owners to business owners. I didn’t realize there were going to be a lot of non-business owners who have interest in the magazine. My magazine has two focus points: first, providing relevant and actionable content to our readership about the boating lifestyle, and second, providing our advertisers an opportunity to get their message in front of our readers through both print and web media. It was an extremely pleasant and rewarding experience to find that the attendees at the B2B Expo covered both focal points of Boating Times Chesapeake Bay magazine. It was a highly concentrated event where I was in constant conversations with people interested in reading our magazine, as well as business owners interested in advertising with us. Several Chamber members appreciated the notice I had displayed offering advertising discounts to other Chamber members.”

Exhibitor Kent Payne with Liberty Tax Service stated at the conclusion of the event, “I obviously did not bring enough cards!  I gave them all out - at least 125.”

Thanks to our sponsors: Reliance Staffing & Recruiting (Presenting); Marriott Chesapeake (Hospitality); AWARE: Cyber Security, Issues and Answers Network, Inc., Minuteman Press - Norfolk and Skills Online (Gold) and Target Marketing Group (Bag).
