Faster Internet Speeds Coming for Cox Customers inHampton Roads

Chesapeake, VA – Cox Communications today announced that it will increase the speeds on two packages of Internet service for all customers this month. Cox High Speed Internet Essential will increase from 5 megabits per second to 15 megabits per second. Cox High Speed Internet Starter will be five times faster increasing from 1 megabit per second to 5 megabits per second. The new speeds automatically go into effect today.

With speeds as fast as 150Mbps, Cox is continuing to provide its customers the fastest speeds in Hampton Roads with plans to increase speeds on the Ultimate package later this year.

In fact, the increased speeds come on the heels of a double speed increase on the two most popular packages late last year. The company also announced plans to have gigabit speeds to all markets by the end of 2016.
