The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and TowneBank are proud to present the 2nd annual Valor Awards, which honors local law enforcement, firefighters and EMS personnel

WHAT: The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and TowneBank are proud to present the 2nd annual Valor Awards, which honors local law enforcement, firefighters and EMS personnel. This breakfast event provides the business community with the opportunity to thank and recognize public safety heroes who put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe. The awards being presented for extraordinary acts of courage and resourcefulness in the line of duty this year include: Lifesaving Awards, Investigative Merit Awards and Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal Valor Awards.

This year’s scholarship recipient is Lieutenant W. Scott Humphrey, of the Virginia Beach Police Department, who will receive a $1,000 scholarship to further his education.

WHO: Emceed by ABC13's Vanessa Coria, attendees will hear moving and inspiring accounts of bravery and amazing stories of the lives that were saved by these selfless rescuers.

The Valor Awards Selection Committee includes Major Steve Patterson, Suffolk Police Department; Ed Ryan, Assistant Chief of Police, Norfolk Police Department; Kristin Vischer, Director of Public Relations, T2 Training FX; William K. Hibner Jr., Division Chief, Chesapeake Fire Department; Lieutenant Scott Agee, Portsmouth Police Department; David Hutcheson, North Division District Chief, Virginia Beach Fire Department; and Candace Donnell, R7 SIU Manager, GEICO.
