“Turning Vision into Action” is theme for Eighth Annual Professional Development Day presented by Women in Defense Greater Hampton Roads Chapter

Renowned nutritionist Chad Havunen, former television journalist and businesswoman Cheryl Tan, the highly successful businessman/developer Gold Key/PHR CEO Bruce Thompson, and the exciting professional executive coach David Arrington will be among the featured speakers at the 8th Annual Professional Development Day presented by the Women in Defense Greater Hampton Roads Chapter (WIDGHR), the local chapter of the national security organization.  The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm., on Thursday, September 21, at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach-Norfolk Conference Center located at 5655 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach.

 

   “We have been hosting this event for the last seven years and it has always rendered top training sessions and great networking opportunities with our signature Chocolate and Wine Networking Social at the end of the day,” said Maria Herbert, WIDGHR chapter president.  “This will be the best year to date.”

 

    “Turning Vision into Action” is the theme for the day, which is presented annually to provide an opportunity for attendees to network with their colleagues in various industries, expand their professional knowledge, and further their career advancement and business growth.

 

   Additional speakers will be Virginia Congressman Scott Taylor; Mark Honnecker, Executive Director and Chief of Staff, United States Fleet Forces Command, Senior Executive Service (SES); and, Ludmilla Parnell, Director, Business Development, Small Business Partnerships, General Dynamics Information Technology.

 

   The engaging conference will include breakout sessions, panel sessions, keynote speakers, a business roundtable, lunch, and an end of day social.  The early-bird registration fee through September 8, is $45 for members/active military or $55 for non-members.  Starting September 8, the registration fee increases to $55 for members/active military or $65 for non-members.  To register or for more information, visit http://www.widghr.org/events.html.
