(August 18, 2015) – The Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce are hosting a breakfast discussion on Thursday, August 27, at the Town Point Club about U.S. energy policy and the need to lift the decades old ban on crude oil exports from the United States.
(Ret.), Vets4Energy National Liaison.Momentum for lifting the ban is growing in Washington, D.C., with House Speaker John Boehner stating recently that he intends to hold a vote on repealing the ban this fall, making this an urgent policy discussion as legislation is moving through both the House and Senate.Joining Virginia Chamber President and CEO Barry DuVal and Hampton Roads Chamber President and CEO Bryan Stephens will be Rear Admiral Don Loren, USN
Additionally, Virginia Senator Mark Warner recently co-chaired the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center's U.S. Energy Boom and National Security task force, which published a report that called on Congress to lift the ban on crude oil exports.
