LEAD Hampton Roads Launches CONNECT2CHESAPEAKE

LEAD Hampton Roads, a program of the Hampton Roads Chamber, is launching CONNECT2CHESAPEAKE, an exciting and intense 2½ day program designed to inform and engage Chesapeake residents and business people in effective community participation.

CONNECT2CHESAPEAKE will take place Wednesday, February 8 through Friday, February 10, 2012, focusing on the key areas of civic and corporate life in Chesapeake: quality of life, government, economic development, and community leadership opportunities. The experience is designed to immerse participants in the knowledge and connections that can take their skills and effectiveness to the “next level” in order to guide the city and region into greater prosperity.  The program takes participants “behind the scenes” with tours of Chesapeake companies and places of interest and explores current challenges and issues with the city’s top political, business and non-profit decision-makers.

The program begins with an opening dinner on February 8 highlighted by a keynote address from Mayor Alan Krasnoff, followed by two full days of tours and conversations with leaders from across the city and region. This newly designed and updated program, formerly known as Ignite Chesapeake, is now entering its eighth year.  Upon completion, participants will join a group of over 100 active and engaged citizens linked by a common goal of enhancing the quality of life in Chesapeake and the region.

If you want to explore the inner workings of Chesapeake, build a broader network of resources, increase your company’s visibility and expand your civic engagement, you are encouraged to enroll now by calling 664-2516 for more information and to register.  Participation is limited to 40 people.  Tuition of $250 includes transportation, meals, program and materials. CONNECT2CHESAPEAKE is sponsored by SAJOMACH Business Services, Inc.
