“The Hampton Roads Corporate Challenge is an incredible networking opportunity,” says Wes Hall, Executive Director of the Hampton Roads Sports Commission. “It brings together business leaders from across Hampton Roads in a friendly and competitive environment outside of the office.”

The Hampton Roads business community competes for bragging rights and the traveling trophy as The Hampton Roads Corporate Challenge gears up for an April 11th kick off. Registration is underway now.

In its third year, it is bigger and better with activities that will appeal to everyone regardless of athletic ability. With new games and new challenges, it is truly an all-inclusive company event with points awarded for team spirit, charitable giving, and bonus challenges like selfies with the CEO.

Last year saw over 60 companies compete in everything from Kickball to Frisbee. New this year is Topgolf, where even non-golfers can get in to the swing of things and score points by hitting micro-chipped golf balls at giant dartboard-like targets on an outfield. Activities will take place across our region at The Adventure Park at the Virginia Aquarium, Hampton Roads Soccer Complex, Virginia Beach Field House, and Pinboy's, The challenge will culminate at Chesapeake City Park with a field day that will take you right back to your childhood with tug-of-war, sack races and hula-hoop contests.

Using sports as teambuilding really brings an organization together and allows companies across Hampton Roads to network while engaging in friendly competition. The 2018 challenge also partners with The Southeastern Virginia Food Bank and The American Red Cross, which will allow teams to earn points based on contributing to these great organizations.
