Flax, a graduate of the College of William and Mary, has more than 40 years of accounting, tax and management experience. He is the Virginia Real Estate Leader for DHG and a firm-wide resource on matters related to real estate and tax consequences of real estate. Flax has a wealth of experience related to tax deferred exchanges, cost segregation studies, affordable housing credit, land conservation credits, cash flow analysis, financial projections, debt and equity financing and entity formation.
Active in both professional and civic organizations, Flax is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, AICPA Real Estate Conference Committee (Chairman), Commercial Real Estate Economic Development and president of the Beth El Temple Foundation. He previously served on HRACRE’s board from 1995-2012.
