“The Hampton Roads Chamber plays an important role in communicating the needs of the region’s business community," said Senator Tim Kaine, " as Senator from Virginia, it’s critical to hear directly from local members and understand how they feel about the direction of the economy."
Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner want to hear from the region's business community. The Hampton Roads Chamber is proud to offer our members and the greater Hampton Roads business community that opportunity at a special Senatorial Forum on Friday, August 18th at the Hilton Norfolk- The Main.
“This is an opportunity for me to hear directly from the job creators and business leaders that help make this region such a vibrant place to work and do business. I look forward to an informative and robust discussion with the Hampton Roads business community, and to carrying your views with me back to Washington," said Senator Mark Warner.
The Hampton Roads Chamber provides opportunities for our members to dialogue with the decision makers in Washington in an effort to be an impactful advocate for the business community. The topics discussed and decisions made every day by our United States Senators create ripples that impact the day to day work of our business leaders, our regional economy, and our national security.
Both of Virginia's US Senators will be present at the forum starting at noon to provide their perspectives on the issues facing Hampton Roads, the Commonwealth, and the nation. The Chamber believes the Hampton Roads region is vital to the continued growth of the Virginia economy and the Senators join us in that thought.
"With the annual spending bills and Defense Authorization coming before the Senate soon I hope to hear from Hampton Roads Chamber members about what I can do to make sure federal policies create an environment that maintains a competitive Port, supports the shipbuilding industry, and grows the region’s economy," said Senator Tim Kaine.
The business community of Hampton Roads has a vested interested in the efforts of our elected officials as they work to address the challenges facing the Nation including our economy, job creation, industry clusters in Hampton Roads (i.e. Cyber Security), national defense, health care, our military, and thoughts on the political climate and the impact on Virginia. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to participate in a lively discussion on August 18th on the present state of affairs in Washington and our nation.
