Program Responds to Demand for Personnel from U.S. Companies

SAINT LEO, FL – Saint Leo University (www.saintleo.edu) has created a new, online Master of Business Administration program with a specialization in supply chain global integration management for emerging professionals ready to advance in their careers. A graduate certificate option is also available.

Saint Leo is well known in the commonwealth through its teaching locations in Southeast Virginia.

Enrollment will begin in Fall Semester 2016 and the tuition for the 36-credit program is highly competitive at $673 per credit hour. The courses were developed and will be taught by faculty from Saint Leo’s Donald R. Tapia School of Business.

The Tapia School program responds to demand for personnel from companies all across the economy, ranging from manufacturing to distribution and retail. As globalization and trade have increased, companies increasingly seek employees and managers to track suppliers, goods, transportation routes, and storage and distribution needs. In addition, managers need to determine the most financially astute choice at each step of the process. Career and pay opportunities are increasing for people who have the right aptitude and appropriate training.

The supply chain global integration management specialization has been designed to provide students with the knowledge required to establish a best-in-class supply chain within their companies.

The core MBA curriculum includes seven courses covering human resources in management, marketing, managerial economics, financial and managerial accounting, strategic management, and global business management. The specialization curriculum entails five courses covering: strategic chain integration; risk modeling and quality initiatives; global systems and sustainability initiatives; competitive advantage management and reverse logistics; and best practices.

As an alternative to the degree, Saint Leo is also offering an 18-hour graduate certificate for students who already have a traditional MBA or a similar degree or comparable experience. The certificate requires the five courses from the specialization, plus a three-credit course covering enterprise resource planning systems in supply chain management.
