More Than 1,000 Attend Chamberís Annual Beach Bash

The Chamber’s annual Beach Bash was held on June 13 at Neptune Park at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. More than 1,000 attendees networked and visited more than 70 business exhibitors who shared their products and services.

The Janitors provided live music and comedians from the Funny Bone Comedy Club entertained the crowd. The event was free and open to the public.

Retail Sales Manager at nTelos Wireless, Amy Groffman, said, “Beach Bash is my favorite event of the entire year. I get to hang out on the beach, mingle with all the business owners, have a great time and get a little business done too.”

Beach Bash is more than just a good time. It presents great networking opportunities for the Chamber’s members, which is the event’s main objective.

“We get to meet other vendors, exchange information and some of these vendors become my patients,” said Dr. Lynette Young, owner of Young Family Dentistry. “So it’s a good marketing tool for me too.”

Both small and large businesses benefit from Chamber events like Beach Bash, which connects Chamber members with other members and the general public.

“Being a member of the Chamber gives us visibility as far as who we are, and lets everyone know that Navy Federal is around,” said Lynne Hancock, Supervisor of Business Services at Navy Federal Credit Union. “And all the different venues the Chamber offer us to be able to actually put our name out there.”
