ADS CEO tells of the road to $2 billion in revenue

Several strategies have guided the growth of Virginia Beach military contractor ADS from a small diving equipment shop to one of the top 50 government contractors in the United States, but two really stick out to CEO Jason Wallace – a commitment to employees and a commitment to customers.

“We’ll change the way we do business to take care of the customer,” Wallace said.

Wallace spoke about the challenges of heading a business with almost 40 years of history during a Hampton Roads Chamber Leadership Series talk June 12 in Virginia Beach.


ADS, which in 2017 earned more than $2 billion in revenue, began in 1979 as Lynnhaven Dive Center. “Big” Mike Hillier Sr., as Wallace referred to him, started the company as a local scuba gear shop and training center.
