The Second Annual Vision Hampton Roads “Regional Day” will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011, from 8-10 am at the Chesapeake Conference Center, 900 Greenbrier Circle, Chesapeake, Virginia. “Regional Day” is the annual report to the community of initiatives and results of the first region-wide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) led by the Hampton Roads Partnership and the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission.
Hampton Roads regional organizations will share their innovations such as simulations and avatars, virtual worlds and NASA Knights robotics team during the event. With an anticipated attendance of more than 600, this event provides attendees with an opportunity to visit one-on-one with local business leaders.
Aneesh Chopra, Chief Technology Officer to the President of the United States and former Secretary of Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, will keynote, surrounding innovation and how it relates to Hampton Roads. Chopra will speak in hopes of launching the Hampton Roads region into its global – technology – future and help reinforce the “grow your own” innovation development strategy.
Vision Hampton Roads is also offering opportunities to be a champion or sponsor for “Regional Day.” Cluster Champions will be entitled to a table, additional recognition through your provided video or still photos, including your logo, during the event. Cost for this opportunity is $1,500. And Table Sponsors will be entitled to prime table position with seats for seven guests, hosting one or more elected officials, and recognition through signage at the event.
