3rd Annual Military Transition Job Fair And VA-ACME Education Expo

Hampton Roads, VA, March 4, 2015 – The Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education (VA-ACME) welcomes Admiral John Harvey, USN-Ret, Virginia’s Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, State Delegates Scott Taylor and Glenn Davis. and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Bryan Stephens, among many notable guest speakers to the 9th Annual Symposium taking place March 24-26 at the Westin Hotel Virginia Beach Town Center.


The Symposium with a theme of Innovate, Motivate, and Integrate Military Talent for the 21st Century, is preceded by two excellent associated events that support our military community locally and across the Commonwealth:


In conjunction with the Fleet & Family Support Center, visit the 3rd Annual Military Transition Job Fair & VA-ACME Education Expo on Tuesday, March 24 from 10am to 2pm, also held at the Westin. More than 40 employers and 20 universities will speak to transitioning military job seekers, veterans, and their families. Take advantage of workshops on resume writing, networking, social media and more. Free and open to the public.


On Tuesday, March 24 from 6pm to 8:30pm join in on the fun at the Inaugural VA-ACME Charity Putt-Putt Golf to support the Student Veteran House at Jungle Golf on Pacific Avenue at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Price is $25 per golfer. National University Golf Academy is our title sponsor.



The Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education promotes and supports meaningful education within all branches of the Armed Services encouraging educational institutions to be innovative and flexible in meeting their educational needs. The VA-ACME Symposium provides a forum for the discussion of current issues and planning for future programming.
