This breakfast event provides the business community with the opportunity to thank and recognize public safety heroes who put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe.

WHAT: The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and USA Living are proud to present the 3rd annual Valor Awards, which honors local law enforcement, firefighters and EMS personnel. This breakfast event provides the business community with the opportunity to thank and recognize public safety heroes who put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe. The awards being presented for extraordinary acts of courage and resourcefulness in the line of duty this year include: Lifesaving Awards, Investigative Merit Awards and Gold Medal, Silver Medal, Bronze Medal Valor Awards and Ultimate Sacrifice award.  

This year’s scholarship recipient is Sergeant Andrew C. Booden, of the Norfolk Police Department, who will receive a $1,000 scholarship to further his education.

WHO: Emceed by ABC13's Vanessa Coria, attendees will hear moving and inspiring accounts of bravery and amazing stories of the lives that were saved by these selfless rescuers.                   

The Valor Awards Selection Committee includes: Major Steve Patterson, Suffolk Police Department; Major Tracy Branch, Chesapeake Police Department; Lieutenant Scott Agee, Portsmouth Police Department; David Hutcheson, North Division District Chief, Virginia Beach Fire Department; and Candace Donnell, R7 SIU Manager, GEICO.
