Congressman Rigell Talks Bipartisanship, Deficit at Virginia Beach Board Meeting

Congressional Scott Rigell addressed the Virginia Beach division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce board on Wednesday, October 5th to lead a discussion on public policy. Rigell, who will retire at the end of his current third term, spoke about his attempt to come up with a bipartisan plan to reduce the national deficient and the political reality of the fiscal concerns. His tenure in Congress included strong bipartisan support, support Rigell is confidence will continue. Rigell has long held close ties to the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, often aligning with the chamber on legislative issues. Rigell’s remarks to the Virginia Beach board also touched on issues like the potential migration of Hampton Roads military assets to Florida, and stressed the need to guard against political decisions dictating the movement of military assets instead of strategic decisions.
