Chamber Introduces Private Health Insurance and Benefits Exchange
To help companies prepare for this years open enrollment period, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and Virginia Benefits Market will co-host educational sessions within the next 30-60 days at the Chambers office in Norfolk.

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with other Chambers across Virginia to introduce Virginia Benefits Market, a private health insurance and benefits exchange.

Virginia Benefits Market aims to simplify the way that businesses and individuals purchase health insurance and other benefits,” said Bryan K. Stephens, President & CEO of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.  “Its easy-to-use online marketplace can help identify cost savings while ensuring compliance with the Affordable Health Care Act.”

Virginia Benefits Market offers powerful tools for small business owners and employees. Enrolled employees will be able to create a benefits package tailored to their needs instead of a one-size-fits-all package. Employees can choose from health insurance plans, as well as dental, vision, life, disability, critical illness and more.

Sole Proprietors and individual consumers will also find that the Virginia Benefits Market provides a robust analytical tool that allows them to compare insurance costs and benefits in a one-stop, streamlined system. In addition to health insurance, they too will be able to enroll in dental, vision, and life coverages.

Virginia Benefits Market will allow business owners and individuals to choose from a broad array of insurance and benefits products offered by reputable carriers,” said Barry DuVal, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia Chamber. “This market-based approach will broaden choices for business owners by taking advantage of the collective buying power of state and local chamber members.”

To help companies prepare for this year’s open enrollment period, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and Virginia Benefits Market will co-host educational sessions within the next 30-60 days at the Chamber’s office in Norfolk.

Virginia Benefits Market is a private insurance and benefits exchange managed by Virginia Benefits Alliance, a joint venture of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Norfolk-based ChamberSolutions. For more information, visit www.virginiabenefits.com or call toll-free 1-855-765-5700.
