Deadline for November 6, 2015
Chesapeake, VA – The Cox Communications Virginia 2015-2016 Cox Charities grant cycle is now open. Eligibility applications will be accepted until November 6, 2015, with awards announced in February 2016. Applications and information are available at www.coxcharities.org.
Cox Charities, the philanthropic arm of Cox Communications, supports non-profit organizations focused on providing quality educational programs to youth throughout Virginia. Now in its sixth year, the program serves Cox communities in the Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia and Roanoke service areas.
“To date, we have awarded more than $750,000 in grants to deserving non-profit organizations in Virginia,” said JD Myers, II, region manager for Cox Virginia. “By supporting these organizations we strengthen our communities and invest in our greatest asset, our youth, and ensure they reach their highest potential.”
To receive funding, non-profit groups must serve communities within Cox’s Hampton Roads, Roanoke, Fairfax County, or Fredericksburg service areas. Education programs that further the academic achievement and development of young people through science and technology, mentoring, literacy and other areas promoting youth education are eligible. Grants are awarded in $5,000 and $10,000 increments.
