Nearly 1,000 people attended the Chamber’s annual Beach Bash on September 18 from 4 to 8pm at 31st Streets Neptune Park at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Nearly 90 local businesses featured exhibits showcasing their products and services. Live music was provided by The Janitors and guests enjoyed complimentary adult beverages and food from Dickey’s BBQ, Moe’s and Arby’s.

Both small and large businesses benefit from Chamber events like Beach Bash, which connects Chamber members with other members and the general public. Beach Bash is more than just a good time, it is one of the best chances all year to network with business professionals in a fun environment celebrating one of the things that make Hampton Roads a great place to live and work.

Courtney Malvisco from Origami Owl, said, “It was very exciting to be an exhibitor at Beach Bash and make lots of new connections and tell everyone about our jewelry.”

Pamela Humphrey from Sam’s Club was enthusiastic about Beach Bash, saying, “This is an outstanding, family-oriented, business oriented event Chamber members need to attend!”

“We have done the beach bash for the last several years,” said Lynne Scott from Navy Federal Credit Union. “It’s so exciting. There’s so much energy. The Chamber puts on some great events and it was perfect having Beach Bash this time of year. It’s something that is fun and energetic for everybody and Navy federal loves to be part of all of that. It is very community oriented and we’re just so happy to be a part of the Chamber.”

The Chamber and Hampton Roads Sports Commission’s annual Sand Kickball Tournament was held in conjunction with Beach Bash from 1 to 5pm on the sand. Awards for first, second and third place were given out on the Neptune Park stage. Read more and view photo album.

Anthony Hiltz, Area Sales Leader for nTelos, said, “We really dug how the kickball event was partnered with Beach Bash because we really use this as a way to connect with the Chamber as well as have a team-building event. We had all our store leaders from Hampton Roads come, so for us it was just a win-win!”

Thanks to Beach Bash sponsors: Elizabeth River Tunnels (Presenting); Arby’s, Dickey’s BBQ Pit and Pure Paradise Water of Virginia Beach (Hospitality); USA Discounters (Military) and to all Silver and Bronze Sponsors.
