Breast cancer doesn’t just affect women. Thousands of men are diagnosed with the disease in the US every year. And so are more than 266,000 of their daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, and friends. The American Cancer Society created the Real Men Wear Pink campaign to engage and empower male community leaders in the fight to end breast cancer. Each Real Men Wear Pink participant accepts a fundraising challenge and competes to be the top fundraiser among his peers by the end of the campaign.

While this campaign is a fundraising initiative, it also provides strong awareness efforts in the local community for the American Cancer Society and its efforts to save lives from breast cancer. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support. In honor of the American Cancer Society's National Real Men Wear Pink Day, we will welcome this year's candidates, friends, family and supporters to O'Connors Brewing Company, 211 W 24th St, Norfolk, VA, on Thursday, October 10, 2019, for a networking event from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  For more information about how to get involved with our mission, please contact Mrs. Michelle Sweezey, Community Development Manager, at Michelle.Sweezey@cancer.org
