Tonya Walley Named Vice President of Field Operations
Walley Brings More than 20 Years of Telecommunications Experience to Cox

Chesapeake, Va. – Cox Communications recently announced that Tonya Walley has been named vice president of field operations for Virginia. Walley will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of installation and technical services of Cox Communications’ products.

“Tonya’s proven talents, expertise and leadership will serve as tremendous asset to our field operations efforts as we expand Cox’s network capacity for the future,” says J.D. Myers, II, senior vice president and region manager of Virginia. “Tonya is an accomplished professional as well as a respected leader. I’m confident she will drive performance excellence across the Commonwealth for Cox.”

Walley brings to this role more than 20 years of telecommunications experience. Most recently, she switched paths to pursue her passion for community service, serving as vice president of operations for the Community Foodbank of New Jersey for the past two years. Prior to that, she worked at Verizon where she built a track record of success on both the technical infrastructure side as well as customer relationship management. Walley started as a field technician and advanced her career through a variety of leadership roles including senior manager of engineering.

Walley earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Saint Peter’s College, where she graduated Cum Laude, as well as a Master of Science in network engineering and a Master of Science in telecommunications management from the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Walley is extremely passionate about education and volunteers with STEM projects in underserved communities. She currently resides with her family in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and will be relocating to Hampton Roads.
